Part Three:

Nate: Wonderful! People are definitely blessed by your message. What story can you tell of a spiritual awakening in your life? Or a miracle that happened to you?

Miracle Ahead!

Ade: Hmm! The one that pops into my mind is a bit of a long story but I will try to keep it short. I attended Agape’s Revelation conference, I can’t remember the year, maybe 2013, but it was the one they did in Burbank, California. The Wednesday before the Revelation Conference, in true revelation fashion, those of us who arrive early, usually attend the Wednesday service and then the Revelation conference begins the next day. I spoke with Rev. D (Rev. Deborah L Johnson) after the Wednesday service about my struggles, the internal conflict to let go of the old, and the pull to be more available for Spirit. I was in a funk.

I remember Rev. D saying, “You have to die! You have to bring all that you judge about yourself, insecurities, shame, and guilt… throw it all in the fire of transformation. You gotta die!” I heard her words, I wanted to die but I was scared. Scared of revealing all of myself. I was afraid of being judged.  She asked if I was attending the Revelation Conference. I said, “Yes!”

The Next Morning

Ade: The next morning at the first session, Dr. Will Coleman spoke. His talk was basically directed to me. It was the story of my life. Halfway into his talk, I was a mess. I was rocking back and forth and on the verge of tears, with people all around me, and I was trying to hold it in. I felt like my life was exposing me. There was nowhere to run.

Surrender

Ade: As fate would have it when I first walked in, I had noticed Rev. D was sitting about three or four rows in front of me. By the time Dr. Will finished speaking, I needed help. I couldn’t hold it together.

I got up and walked as fast as I could to Rev. D, who thankfully was sitting on the first chair of that particular row. I fell on my knees, held her hands. She looked down at me and said, “I told you, you have to die!” I cried uncontrollably. As she consoled me, I was literally out of my mind. I think she got up, I can’t remember. I was in a different space. All I remember is, she was praying, she may have placed her hand on my head. My legs couldn’t hold me up and I fell. Other women came around praying and caring for me.

I overheard an announcement in the room “Is there a Doctor in the house?” I remember thinking, “someone is hurt.” I offered a silent prayer for their wellbeing. Only to realize that they were making the announcement for me. I chuckled at the idea. I mumbled, “I’m okay!” Rev. D told me to be quiet. I guess she was reminding me that I have important things to focus on. After Rev. D and other Practitioners and women around me finished praying and holding space, someone took me to the Healing Section of the conference. And several people did energy work (Reiki and another therapy with essential oils).

Resurrection

Ade: I died that day. I died to the old. I resurrected into a new self. The interesting thing was, everything that happened, happened organically. All I did was show up. As I think about it now, I am seeing even more clearly how the power of intention works. My intention was to heal, to release the old, and be made new. Well, it happened.

Nate: Wow, Ade, I am blown away by your story of awakening!! It shows what amazing things can happen when we allow them. What a beautiful resurrection! Thank you for relating this to us. Please share with us what you advise for a daily practice to stay “tuned in” to Spirit.

Staying “Tuned-In”

Ade: First and foremost, give thanks for a new day. Give thanks for the opportunity to create and/recreate a new reality.

Ade: Next, I will say, meditate, journal, pray, read something that inspires you, set an intention for the kind of day you want to create. I am not necessarily saying do all of these but at least one. Or simply find a practice that helps you connect with the Divine, a practice that reminds you that you are part of something greater.

Ade: I suggest doing all or any of these before checking social media, news, and emails. Treat your relationship with the Divine like it is a romantic relationship. Simply put, take it seriously and invest time, attention, and energy in the relationship. Create a relationship (with the Divine) that makes you and your heart smile.

For Such a Time as This

Nate: Beautiful! What are your thoughts about the coronavirus situation in the world?

Ade: We are living in interesting times. It is an opportunity to heal. Humanity is being given an opportunity to reset – reboot. The reset has caused a lot of trauma, pain, discomfort, and grief. It has also offered the opportunity for many to take an introspective look into how there have been living their lives. I know several people whose creative abilities have been activated. They are now writing poetry, songs, books, etc. Really, it is a time of death and rebirth. Physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and environmentally.

Nate: I love that “showtime” concept! That is a beautiful message of what we can focus on at this time. Is there anything else you would like readers to know about you?

You Matter

Ade: Remember, that you are part of and one with something greater. You matter, you are worthy and you are loved, unconditionally. Nothing you do or don’t do can change that. It is your birthright.

Nate: I so appreciate this inspiring interview! Thank you, Ade! I especially appreciated your resurrection story!
